DESIGNA's® ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
At Designa Tiles® we care about our environment and we are committed to importing tiles only from top quality Italian manufacturers with certified 'eco-friendly' products.
Designa Tiles® itself has a detailed and functional energy conservation and environmental protection plan. We recycle packaging, plastics, metals, paper and cardboard. The company's electricity and water usage is continuously monitored and is kept as low as possible.
Of course, tiles are already an eco-friendly choice. They are made from natural raw materials, they have zero emissions and they will typically outlast almost every other type of floor or wall cladding. In addition, porcelain tiles are completely resistant to fire and frost damage and their fully vitrified structure means that they are hypo-allergenic - perfect for asthma or allergy sufferers. Finally, modern porcelain tiles provide excellent thermal mass which makes them attractive to architects, designers and general consumers who seek to use inert, natural materials that can help to reduce heating and cooling costs.
Some of the products imported by Designa Tiles® use up to 50% recycled material and are made by fully certified Italian tile factories with comprehensive environmental policies addressing recycled raw materials, energy usage, carbon dioxide emissions etc.
All of the products made by our Italian suppliers are certified under various European and global standards to meet or exceed environmental quality standards. The technical information and copies of relevant environmental certification for all tile ranges imported by Designa Tiles® are available upon request.
